The Claire Foundation is a trust fund that was created in memory of Claire Louise Fraser. Claire and her best friend, Robyn Elizabeth Buffington, were killed in a car accident on August 22, 2004 while vacationing in Panama. They were 22 years old. The day before they left on their trip, Claire was talking about her future and said,
“I feel like I am supposed to do something really important, but I don’t know what it is.”
Claire’s family created the Claire Foundation to honour her, and to do that “important something.”
The Foundation’s focus is to help impoverished and orphaned children in developing countries and to support
charitable initiatives in keeping with Claire’s interests and passions.
In 2006 The Claire Foundation built two homes for orphaned children through Watoto Child Care Ministries, Uganda. Claire House and Robyn House are home to sixteen children and two house mothers.
Currently the goal of the Claire Foundation is to raise the funds we need to ensure that the children of Claire House and Robyn House are sponsored and supported in perpetuity.
